| Blue Ribbon Bar-B-Q is a Southern barbecue joint transplanted to leafy West Newton. The ramshackle space has both roadside spunk and Main Street coziness. Styrofoam serving containers, plastic utensils and stainless-steel sweet tea dispensers say it all about the eats to come. Naturally, hog is big here. Smoked low-and-slow until slipping off the bone, pulled pork has the right level of tarty sass; and Memphis-style ribs have sweet tang. Be sure to load up on sides like collards and beans, and note the presence of some urbane updates, like a barbecued burrito special that reels 'em in at lunch. And for dessert...what else? Pecan, sweet potato or Key lime pie. |
