| Amidst a décor of swank mid-century modern furniture and accents, this oceanside restaurant offers upscale classic Maine cuisine like oysters Rockefeller and wood-fired mussels to start, then a New York strip with chicken fried lobster tail or Muscovy duck with roasted corn risotto and a Cabernet demi-glace. The cocktail lounge is the place to be with creative "bar chefs" who make their own bitters and locally sourced libations. The wine list is heavy on California labels, but there are some topnotch Spanish reds, too, as well as some nice Rieslings. The bar crowd is lively and the menu less pricey than in the dining room. Since this is one of the most handsome restaurants in the area, offering an open balcony with an ocean view, you'll just want to sit, to see and be seen. Linger over a classic caramel pot de crème or steamed chocolate cake. |
