BlueFire Grill Restaurant Review: BlueFire Grill, Omni La Costa Resort and Spa’s inviting dining venue, sits in the middle of the property’s Mediterranean courtyard. Outside, a casual patio with fountains, fire pits and live entertainment beckons. Inside, the earthy modern design with blue-colored glass accents, dark wood floors, a timber ceiling and rich leathers in dark oranges is a study in good taste. The BlueFire Lounge calls for a sophisticated cocktail, perhaps the antioxidant-loaded berry mojito, and an artisanal cheese plate. Many of the main dining room's dishes employ produce and herbs from the resort's gardens or the local farms, so it's truly a farm-to-fork experience. Guests can enjoy heirloom beet salad with smoked duck breast and crispy onion rings or garden soup showcasing the seasonal produce. Coastal inspired dishes include Baja ceviche or the daily catch. Creamy risotto with foraged mushrooms proves to be a comforting dish. Fans of meat should try the short rib bourguignon with tender Angus beef or the butcher-block special spotlighting the finest cuts like Colorado lamb chops. Sides include IPA pork belly mac ‘n’ cheese and farmers market vegetables. Finish with the chocolate truffle custard.
