Bobby V's Restaurant & Sports Bar Restaurant Review

: If you're a stats-loving sports geek, these numbers will excite you: 70-plus TVs including a massive, 17-foot-wide screen. The latest entertainment and dining destination from Connecticut's own Bobby Valentine --- best known for his Major League Baseball playing and managing career --- also appeals to grown-ups who've grown tired of sports bars that lob up dumbed-down family fare. Executive chef Jordan Stein takes the three-point shot and scores on every dish, from hand-cut chips and salsa to wings sauced or rubbed 10 different ways to filet mignon sliders topped with homemade bacon and onion jam. We like to start with smoky bacon-wrapped U-10 (that means gigantic) scallops and nachos piled high enough to last until halftime. Then, it's tough to choose: a clams casino flatbread or custom-designed burger with "V" fries sprinkled with salt, pepper, parsley and Asiago? Both pair well with on-tap local beers. Celebrate a big victory or payout with s'mores fondue for two. Come summer, the outdoor patio, with still more TVs, has fans of its own.
