In order to exploit the street-level space of the bar, high-style Bohanan’s has created a lunch menu utilizing Texas-raised Akaushi beef in both carpaccio and meatballs in a spicy tomato broth. And in addition to creative cocktails and a first-rate selection of single-malt scotches, the bar has instituted a series of tasting menus: Five artisanal beers matched to cheeses, tequilas paired with fruits, ceviches and chocolate in another, and single-malts hitched to the likes of seaweed-cured bluefin tuna. Meanwhile, the upstairs mesquite grill continues to turn out tableside Châteaubriand for two as well as venison tenderloin. The Chef’s Private Steak Reserve Menu, priced accordingly, offers three cuts of Akaushi beef and a 24-ounce bone-in rib-eye. We suggest you avoid the duck confit egg rolls, but the seared Hudson Valley foie gras with duck leg confit is potentially splurge-worthy. Wine service can seem over the top, but sommelier Laz McGill's advice may be trusted. So trade up in wine, beef and seafood and enjoy the pocketbook pain---even to the extent of ordering the flagrantly flaming cherries jubilee.
