| In its glamorized setting well off the beaten track, this bistro may remind you of Indian film stars but your focus should really be on the sumptuous contemporary-Indian menu. Another Indian restaurant in the metro area that dares step outside the norm of rogan josh and tandooried meats, Bollywood Bistro succeeds with such dishes as Goan lobster with a tamarind glaze and poached sea bass with a fenugreek tomato sauce. But if you have an insatiable craving for hip Indian cooking, plan your visit at lunchtime, when a bountiful buffet table will lure you back for many repeat platefuls. Maybe the fare is not as dazzling as the menu dishes, but the selection is varied, and besides, you can eat your fill for one flat price. Be sure, however, to order breads off the menu; otherwise, you’ll miss the tomato-cheese naan and the mint-flavored whole-wheat bread. |
