Bombay Duck Co. Restaurant Review:

When is a duck not a duck? When it’s a fish. A Bombay duck is actually a lizardfish that exists in the waters around Mumbai, the Indian metropolis formerly known as Bombay. Bombay duck isn’t served at this Greenwich Village restaurant of the same name (it’s coming, they say). Instead, there’s Mumbai street food, some of which is good, and some underwhelming. Let’s start with the former and proceed in descending order: the vada pav smash, a fried patty of mashed potatoes encased in a soft hamburger bun, justifies taking a seat. Masala fries are forgettable. Chili paneer (a Sino-Indian fusion item) tasted like a shopping mall food court sweet-and-sour dish. All in all, if you know what to order, you can eat decently.
