About the restaurant: A Korean restaurant group with numerous metro-area outlets and eateries nationwide, Bonchon (which means “my hometown”) takes ordinary fried chicken and elevates the crunchy bird into tasty treats paired with rice and dashed with seasonings.

Likes: Spicy fried chicken strips.
Dislikes: Fried calamari starters.

About the food: Menu choices include wings, drumsticks and chicken strips, all crispy and tempting. Non-chicken eaters can consider bulgogi (sliced beef with soy sauce), japchae (stir-fried rice noodles with thinly sliced beef) and okonomiyaki (Japanese pancake with squid, cabbage and bacon). You could make a whole meal with several of the starters, like the fried calamari, pot stickers and popcorn chicken. But possibly the best option is to dine in with friends and order the fried chicken selections that make this Korean fast-food or sit-down eatery a real destination.
