Sicilian fare is the specialty here, and though some dishes resemble the at-this-point familiar cuisine of Southern Italy, the majority of the menu is rather more exotic. Take, for example, the mushrooms stuffed with almonds or the roasted boar chops found on the winter menu. Both recipes probably could have been found in Caesers’ royal kitchens around the time of the Roman Empire. Conservative diners should probably stick with the roast chicken or baked pasta in meat sauce. Adventurous ones will have a blast nibbling their way through stuffed sardines, braised artichokes, venison, sweetbreads and other unusual delicacies.
