Looking a bit like it belongs on an Old West movie set, this narrow restaurant with its long wooden bar (one stool seat is actually a saddle) might well have been home to the likes of John Wayne. Today’s crowd seems to know each other and the menu is a friendly mix of Tex-Mex and good, old-fashioned home cooking. Head here at brunch time and you can wolf down a plate of french toast flavored with Grand Marnier and with sides of sausage and home fries. But almost everything else on the menu has been branded with Western influences, except for a few such dishes as a Vietnamese-style salad and a couple of pastas (primavera and seafood marinara). Otherwise, think beans, tortillas, chilies and seven cuts of steak.
