The Bosphorus Turkish Cuisine Restaurant Review: At the Bosphorus, the food is the real McCoy, the ambience is inviting and the experience is memorable. While the Turkish carpets, travel posters and friendly servers make you feel like you're in Istanbul, it's the food that hastens your return. The Iskender kebab, a hearty dish of grilled lamb and beef layered over chunks of fried pita, smothered in a spicy tomato sauce and cooling yogurt, is as good as any we have had in Turkey. As are the savory stuffed peppers of rice and ground beef or the Bosphorus Salad, with layers of feta, tomato, stuffed grape leaves, cucumbers and olives. Classic Mediterranean rice pudding is sinfully good, especially alongside a cup of Turkish coffee served with flair. |
