BoMA Restaurant + Bar, has just opened a gastrolounge in the former Pho Republique space in the South End. The renovated restaurant focuses on small plates like slow cooked short rib tacos with cabbage and queso anejo and lighter fare dishes such as risotto with wild fall mushrooms, sage, aged balsamic vinegar and shaved Pecorino Romano. A more casual sibling of the upscale 75 Chestnut has opened in the Seaport District. Just as beautiful as 75 Chestnut, 75 on Liberty Wharf features floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Boston Harbor and a menu that focuses on American-inspired bistro fare. Snack on a salmon BLT or tender BBQ sirloin steak sandwich with caramelized onions and melted cheddar for lunch. Sip a peppermint hot toddy on the all-season patio before heading into the main dining room for dinner options that include everything from pumpkin ravioli to Nantucket seafood stew chock full of shrimp, scallops, salmon, swordfish, halibut and sea bass. 75 on Liberty Wharf, 220 Northern Ave., Boston, MA 02210, 617-227-0754.
 
Fogo de Chao has opened in Boston Fogo de Chão, a southern Brazilian steakhouse chain, has opened in the former space of The Palm restaurant at The Westin Copley Place, Boston. Like its predecessor, the focus is on beef and lots of it (16 forms to be exact) presented to you by gaucho chefs who slice samplings tableside from roasting skewers. Sip on an authentic Brazilian Caipirinha made with cachaça as you prepare for the parade of beef that includes everything from filet mignon and chicken wrapped in bacon to leg of lamb and slow roasted pork ribs. Bistro du Midi's Executive Chef Robert Sisca Becomes Partner
Bistro du Midi's executive chef Robert Sisca has just become partner of the restaurant. To celebrate, he has created a menu of fall dishes, including roasted monkfish, parsnip, Brussels sprout leaves, squid ink and octopus emulsion along with a seared duck breast dish with chickpea croquette, black olive, almonds, blood orange and lavender duck jus. Beaujolais Nouveau Menu at PB Boulangerie Bistro
PB Boulangerie Bistro is offering a three-course prix-fixe menu ($29) in honor of the release of this year's vintage of Beaujolais Nouveau. The menu, which includes a bottle of Beaujolais Nouveau, features salade Beaujolais, braised red wine short ribs, and red wine poached pears. This is available November 15-21. The Barking Crab Introduces Bar Bites Menu
Even though The Barking Crab is well known for its seafood in the summer, it has introduced some great bar snacks that make it a great year-round destination. From sliders and mussels in garlic and white wine to fritto misto and fish tacos, the cheap eats menu features snacks all under $10. "The Barking Crab Bar Bites" menu is available Sun.-Thurs. from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. and 9 p.m. to close. The Barking Crab, 88 Sleeper St., Boston, MA 02210, 617-426-2722.
 

Chef Shuffle

Woodward at the Ames Hotel has named Kyle Ketchum, a native of San Antonio, Texas, as the restaurant's executive chef. He plans to keep the menu New England-focused while adding his own personal flair to dishes like cinnamon spiced butternut squash soup, short rib tortellini with Madeira and truffle butter and a roasted beet salad with Serrano ham and candied pistachios. The owner of Locke-Ober has decided to close its doors after a long, storied history. The restaurant made famous by President Kennedy (who even had the lobster stew named after his love for the appetizer) located in Downtown Crossing has been sold and there is some discussion about opening a new restaurant in the first floor space.
