BOSTON RESTAURANT NEWS

Openings

Jody Adams of Rialto fame opened her latest restaurant, Trade, on October 21 in the city's trendy hot spot known as Atlantic Wharf. The restaurant is located along the Boston waterfront and Rose Kennedy Greenway and features Italian-inspired small plates, flatbreads and comfort food favorites with a twist like seared half chicken with burnt orange, dates, pistachios and quinoa. Trade, 540 Atlantic Ave., Boston, MA 02110, 617-451-1234.

We were sad to see Jer-Ne at The Ritz-Carlton, Boston Common go but were excited to hear a modern American bistro would soon be taking its place. Enter Artisan Bistro, which is now open for business. At the helm of the kitchen is Adam Kube, who comes to the city from The Ritz-Carlton, Key Biscayne, serving up burgers and flatbreads along with classic comfort favorites like chicken pot pie and steak frites. Artisan Bistro is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily with brunch on Sundays. Artisan Bistro, 10 Avery St., Boston, MA 02111, 617-574-7176.

Smith & Wollensky opened its second location in Boston at Atlantic Wharf between the Rose Kennedy Greenway and Boston Harbor. The enormous restaurant's interior reflects the building's industrial warehouse origins. There ia a full-service oyster bar, large outdoor patio, open kitchen and deep red banquettes. The steakhouse is known for its on-premise 28-day dry-aging process of sirloins, ribeyes and T-bone steaks, but also features a deconstructed ribeye complete with roasted bone marrow and "cracklin" pork shank with firecracker apple sauce. Lunch & Dinner daily. Smith & Wollensky, 294 Congress St., Boston, MA 02210, 617-778-2200.
