Monday Night Pasta Flight at Terramia
When you can’t decide what kind of pasta you want, why not pick three? Terramia in the North End is offering a Monday Night Pasta Flight. Pick spaghetti, gnocchi, pappardelle or risotto, sauces and add-ins for dishes such as rigatoni con salsiccia with sausage and broccoli rabe; spaghetti alla carbonara; and pappardelle alla bolognese. Cooking Demonstration on September 21
Chef-restaurateur Jay Hajj of Mike’s City Diner will host a “Commitment to Community” cooking demonstration in the lobby of the Huntington Avenue YMCA (316 Huntington Ave., Boston) from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Hajj will also promote his upcoming 2017 cookbook, tentatively titled “Epic Recipes that Made a Cooking Career.” Hajj intends to prepare his bulgur wheat-crusted and Aleppo pepper fried chicken. The event is free and open to the public.
 
Presidential Debate Drinks & Snacks Specials September 26
The September 26 Presidential Debate will be aired at several area restaurants, which will also offer food and drink specials. Brass Union (70 Union Square, Somerville, 617-623-9211) will stream it on its lounge’s 70-inch HDTV, with Somerville bartending duo Meaghan Sinclair and Harmony Dawn Kelly from Booze Époque pouring candidate-themed specialty drinks, so you can cast your vote by asking for Trump’s Wall or Hillary’s Email. At Bukowski Tavern (1281 Cambridge St., Cambridge, 617-497-7077), chef Brian Poe has created some debate-worthy snacks --- The Trump: Buffalo Maple Dusted Little Fingers, and The Clinton: Email Server (IPA battered onion rings). The Independent (75 Union Square, Somerville, 617-440-6022) offers its voting guests three alternative cocktail candidates: Third Party Candidate; Let’s All Move to Canada; and the Foreign Policy. River Bar (661 Assembly Row, Somerville, 617-616-5561) will stream the debate on indoor and outdoor TVs, while imbibers can order the Vote for Me! or the No, Vote for Me!
