 BottleRock Restaurant Review: This second branch of BottleRock is located on the street level of the Met Lofts downtown. The site is a larger version of the original Culver City location, and it features a very nice wine shop. An extended menu offers plenty of cheese and charcuterie, along with dishes such as pork belly with an apple-banana purée and thyme, as well as hand-rolled lasagna with a ricotta béchamel. Other plates to share include a sirloin strip steak drizzled with a sweet garlic Zinfandel sauce, and sea scallops with pickled beets and maple buttermilk dressing. In addition to the impressive wine selection overseen by manager George Skorka, the restaurant also has a solid beer list coordinated by an onsite beer sommelier. Belgian-influenced Allagash Curieux is just one of more than a dozen brews that are on tap. For dessert, indulge in a beer float made with Ten Fidy Imperial Stout with chocolate cappuccino ice cream. |
