This second branch of BottleRock is located on the street level of the Met Lofts downtown. The site is a larger version of the original Culver City location, and it features a very nice wine shop. Executive chef Jared Levy, who has previously worked with Providence's Michael Cimarusti, created an extended menu that offers cheese and charcuterie along with dishes such as brulée black sea bream with house-pickled vegetables and microgreens. Other plates to share include fava and pistachio falafel; pork belly risotto; and bacon and date agnolotti in a white wine lemon verbena sauce. In addition to the impressive wine selection overseen by manager George Skorka, the restaurant also offers a solid beer list coordinated by beer sommelier Alex Macy. (Both would be happy to recommend pairings.) Belgian ale Blanche de Bruxelles is just one of more than a dozen brews that are on tap. For dessert, indulge in an oversized cupcake or a beer float made with vanilla ice cream and Allagash Curieux or coffee toffee ice cream and St. Bernardus Abt12.
