This café is adorned with purple bougainvillea vines and flagstone columns and offers an extensive menu with something for everyone. Round-the-clock breakfast selections include traditional dishes as well as vanilla french toast and a pancake sandwich. Traditional Mexican fare is served from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Chinese specials from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for lunch, 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. for dinner. Chinese specials include pan-fried noodles topped with roasted meats and fresh vegetables, Hong Kong-style. Graveyard specials---eggs with ham or beef steak---are offered from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. For starters on the 24-hour menu, we like the chicken wings and fingers. Among refreshing salads are Caesar, Chinese chicken and Greek. Accompanied by seasoned fries, slaw, potato salad, garden salad or tasty soup, the array of sandwiches includes burgers, a Reuben on rye, and chicken topped with Hatch green chile. Prime meats are slow-roasted in the massive rôtisserie oven against the back wall. For dessert, we suggest the bread pudding, enough for two---or three.
