The weekend line snakes out the door and veers, thankfully, away from the few sun-splashed sidewalk tables nudged up under Boulange de Polk's open windows. Once across the threshold, you'll find charming wood counters displaying baskets of flaky croissants and pains au chocolat, crusty breads in different shapes and sizes, and cakes topped with seasonal fruits. Further down the counter are the sandwiches: warm croque monsieur, simple but satisfying ham-and-butter baguettes and many flavors of open-face tartines. Homemade soups and salads, served with crusty bread, round out the light meal menu available until 6 p.m. |
