Bound’ry has evolved from a scattershot global kitchen into a more focused, mature place where classic American cooking meets up with the occasional diverting detour. The room looks like it was decorated by Salvador Dalí, and every corner vibrates with some small treasure: a fresco, a pretty light fixture, an unusual piece of art, and an upstairs bar worth a visit just to check out the Arabian Nights motif. Don’t miss the veal cheeks in a heady broth of Benton’s bacon and wine; the halibut with couscous and tomato conserve is also quite good. Late-night diners make a meal from small plates such as the lobster BLT pizza or tempura tuna roll. For dessert, it’s got to be the churros and hot chocolate sauce. The wine list is designed for intrepid voyages, and there’s an uncommonly comprehensive half bottle list.
