Bourbon Street Restaurant Review:

Bourbon Street’s red brick walls, black banquettes and flat-screen TVs mirror the decorative theme that’s common among the watering holes of downtown Fullerton. While this casual joint had chiefly been known as a bar and a late-night club, it has shifted gears to put a greater emphasis on food --- here, the fare is a blend of California and Cajun cuisines. The pulled pork and barbecue sauce-slathered Louisiana fries channel bar fare; down-home Southern items include traditional soups, sandwiches and mains, such as the fried chicken with Cajun creamed corn and the seafood jambalaya loaded with shrimp, scallops, clams and andouille sausage. The compact dessert list features Southern-kissed items, as in the bananas Foster. On weekends, the restaurant rolls out dishes like biscuits and gravy and country fried steak and eggs. Bourbon aficionados should note that the place lives up to its name by offering a deep selection of the eponymous spirit.
