Chef Chris Brandl poaches the crustacean in a light butter sauce infused with vanilla, and serves it over creamy asparagus risotto. It’s a dazzling dish, and one of many creative executions using intriguing accents from Kona coffee to mushroom dust. Vying for the title of “signature” are Brandl’s crab cakes, an especially fine version of this classic dish. Also notable are the bone-in filet mignon and grilled Caesar salad. Pretty, rust-toned décor with touches of French toile creates an upscale ambience, and the brick-paved courtyard location is a peaceful distance from the oft-raucous Belmar beach scene. |
