THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Bread on Market Restaurant Review:
For several years one certain Hillcrest bakery has dominated the San Diego bread scene, but now we have a true challenger to this incumbent---Bread on Market. We like these loaves (challah, potato-dill, raisin-walnut, rosemary boule, olive baton and more). Owned by Valerie Grover, this café serves sandwiches, soups, salads and sweets. We can't get enough of the focaccia bread---her own version of the Italian classic. It's baked with rosemary and olive oil with a moist, tender crumb. And Bread on Market’s proximity to Petco Park makes it the perfect spot to pick up food for the game. Comfort foods like house-made lasagna, turkey meatloaf and flaky-crusted chicken potpie make up the home-style dinner menu, good for an early dinner or take-out.
