Bread Winners Cafe & Bakery Restaurant Review: Better organized and larger than the beloved original location, this Bread Winners manages to retain warm, country charm in an upscale location. The top-notch baked goods, especially the positively evil variety of cheesecakes, are just as good as ever. Stop in for breakfast tacos or cinnamon-raisin french toast at breakfast. A portobello patty melt burger is the way to go at lunch, smothered with grilled onions and 'shrooms served on marble rye, it will send you happily on your way to the dreariest of meetings. Dinner offers more adventurous fare, like the decadent seared foie gras served with a mung bean cassoulet and dried cherry demi-glace; lobster enchiladas served with an intriguing mashed potato chile relleno; and an excellent pappardelle served with a pungent Parmesan cream sauce with chicken, pancetta and prosciutto. The atmosphere is conducive to lingering and the staff is generally happy to let you do so.
