The sister location of the original Breck---located up in Breckenridge, Colorado---this downtown outlet carries on founder Richard Squire’s esteemed brewpub vision. A roomy, boomy, brewpub caddy corner to Coors Field, the Breck is a choice place for pre and post-game sips and sandwiches, and an off-season pint and bite. Game day crowds pack in for the beers, including the big-selling Avalanche and the exceptional oatmeal stout. This rich, round and roasted wonder is one of Denver’s best dark beers. The menu features a wealth of selections that raise the brewpub fare standard by several notches. Sure, you’ll find loads of sandwiches, burgers and buffalo wings, but we swing for the southwestern chicken salad with the spiky green chile dressing. The beer-battered cod planks are always a homerun, the open-faced meatloaf and garlic mashers are a consistent winner. Great service, too. Leave room for a stout in lieu of coffee.
