THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Bridge Restaurant & Lounge Restaurant Review:

Following years of success with Koi, where tables remain a hot commodity, its owners decided to open a new gathering place across La Cienega Boulevard, in the spot that once housed Alto Palato. The grand space was completely redesigned: there’s a separate bar overlooking the street; a main dining room (preferable); and a more intimate, (too) dimly-lit nook. The walnut and teak woods decorating the rooms lend a soothing tone, lifted by beige fabrics and saffron-hued glass light fixtures. The curved, fluid nature of a wall sculpture breaks the linear impact of the high ceiling. While the cuisine at Koi is innovative, the Italian menu at Bridge is not as interesting, considering that this type of venue’s hip crowd expects modern and new dishes. Classic mozzarella and tomatoes, beef carpaccio, grilled prawns, minestrone, Caesar salad, mixed baby greens with pecorino cheese, and margherita pizza can be found as appetizers. Pastas (linguine in white clam sauce, beef ravioli with porcini mushrooms, lasagna) and risottos occupy a large part of the menu. Meats are prepared on a wood-fired grill and vary from a veal chop and free-range half chicken to a lamb chop and filet mignon. Salmon, Dover sole or swordfish are some of the products of the sea. It just seems that more attention has been given to the décor than to the cuisine. You’ll find a range of suitable options on the wine list.
