Brisbi's Lakefront Restaurant & Bar Restaurant Review: Prior to the 2005 hurricanes, dining on the edge of Lake Pontchartrain was a local tradition. Almost all of the lakefront eateries disappeared with the storms, and finally this one reopened in 2013. Brisbi's sits right on the water; the cavernous space, offering indoor and outdoor seating, is reminiscent of its historical forerunners, but this time the building is highly elevated and built to withstand the elements. The menu is typical of the old seafood houses --- five types of fresh fish daily, fried seafood, fresh oysters, Gulf shrimp, fried green tomatoes, plump crab cakes, generously portioned salads and lots of cold beer on tap. Wines are abundant as well, with some selections that may surprise in a casual seafood joint. How about a nice Caymus Cabernet with that overstuffed po' boy? For dessert, the warm chocolate chip pecan pie and a brownie with chocolate ganache will vie for your attention.
