| Originally opened in 1950, the Broiler remains one of the city's true old-time steakhouses. Now housed in a modern high-rise on an urban pedestrian mall, the restaurant still holds onto its old-school charm. The menu offers all the classics---filet mignon, porterhouse, prime rib---as well as some more unexpected dishes, such as bacon-wrapped duck breast, cornmeal-crusted catfish and whiskey-caramelized salmon. For something different, order the Bubbly Burger---two sirloin burgers with a bottle of Mumm Cordon Rouge Champagne and a pair of keepsake glasses. |
