The Broken Egg Restaurant Review: There's no equivocating, no waffling. Any Sarasota-area local will point you to The Broken Egg for the best breakfast in town. Coffee comes quick, orange juice is fresh-squeezed, and it's hard to find a clunker on the breakfast menu. Feel like going sweet, but still virtuous? Head for Jerry's Pancake, one monstrous buttermilk flapjack studded with blueberries, bananas and wheat germ. On the other hand, there’s the “scram sam”: three eggs scrambled with smoked salmon and chives, served with tomatoes, onion, cream cheese and a bagel. There’s also banana-nut bread french toast. |
