| Without a reservation, getting a table may take some time, so consider sidling up to the bar or counter where you’ll enjoy easy access and views of oysters being shucked (reportedly 400 dozen each week) and drinks being poured. Upholstered booths and dark wood furnishings give this spot a classy men’s club vibe. Located in a nineteenth-century building, The Brooklyn has a loyal clientele of well-heeled concert-goers attending performances at nearby Benaroya Hall and denizens of neighboring office towers. Try the tasting samplers that pair various oysters with wines or draft beers. Menu favorites include venison with roasted wild boar bacon and potato gnocchi, Prime sirloin with Dungeness crab, and a succulent slow-braised leg of lamb. Desserts are forgettable, but if you must have something sweet, the warm chocolate cake is a decent option. |
