Browns continues its predictable, but satisfactory, way. Success partly comes from the different venues --- each of the Browns is converted from unusual purpose-built buildings. The one on Maddox Street was a tailor's; this one was an old courthouse. Cream-coloured walls, wooden chairs and marble-topped tables, and much greenery in the form of huge plants help the atmosphere, as does the friendly and professional service. The food is pretty standard and the choice wide in standard brasserie style (roasted goat’s cheese, steak frites, pastas, salads, and a wild boar and chorizo burger); children get a great deal. Open all day for breakfast (eggs Benedict and bubble and squeak), brunch, lunch, afternoon tea, pre-theatre and dinner. Other locations.
