Bruegger's Bagel Bakery Restaurant Review: One fresh, chewy bite proves that Bruegger's bagels are made the old-fashioned way, kettle boiled and stone-hearth baked. Stop by for breakfast and order the “Western,” which comes with egg, bacon, roasted red peppers, red onions and chipotle sauce. While the coffee is more adequate than habit-forming, many locations remedy this shortcoming by sharing a wall with local coffee spot Caribou Coffee. For lunch, try one of the soups that change daily; the butternut squash and cold weather-busting white chicken chili are especially good. Salads like the sesame chicken or Mandarin taste perfect with a garlic bagel on the side. Bagels themselves come in standard issue plain, salt, poppy seed and whole-wheat for purists as well as more experimental flavors such as sun-dried tomato and trail mix for those who can't leave well enough alone.
