| This national chain won our hearts by bringing the first decent bagel to the Twin Cities. Since then it has expanded its repertoire, adding boutique cream cheeses, respectable soups and signature sandwiches. Bagels come in standard-issue plain, salt, poppy seed and garlic varieties for purists and experimental flavors such as sun-dried tomato for those who can't leave well enough alone. For a breakfast bagel sandwich that is far superior to most fast food offerings, order the “Western,” which comes with egg, bacon, roasted red peppers, red onions and chipotle sauce. Unfortunately the coffee at Bruegger's isn't as good as we want it to be, but this location remedies the shortcoming by sharing a wall with Starbucks. |
