THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Brummis The German Taste Restaurant Review

: Cast aside any presumptions of a cold, staid German restaurant. Proprietors Veronika and Manuela Brumm warm up their namesake eatery with contemporary versions of German fare, as well as traditional dishes, not to mention an occasional invitation to dance. To be sure, the welcoming atmosphere created by this mother-daughter duo adds to the dining experience, as does the bright interior. The food is good, too. While the menu is thick with familiar heavyweights like bratwurst and bockwurst, young "Ela" makes a variety of fresh, healthy salads and a light, creamy dressing. Her mom, meanwhile, works international flavors into old-country classics. Take, for example, “currywurst,” a fried pork sausage sliced and served with homemade curry sauce. Her Hawaiian-style schnitzel is topped with pineapple, and available in pork or chicken. Of course, no German restaurant would be complete without beer, and Brummis offers plenty of that, available on tap, along with a small selection of house wines. For dessert, try classics like apple fritter or German chocolate cake.
