In Denver, as in most cities, it can be hard to find a place where both kids and their parents look forward to dining. Italian eatery Buca di Beppo is one of them. There’s a kids’ menu filled with favorites like creamy macaroni and cheese, and spaghetti with meatballs. For parents, there’s a full bar, a wine list featuring Italian and domestic reds and whites (there are good values to be found, but also some rip-offs on the by-the-glass menu), and a large menu filled with Italian choices that won’t blow you away, but taste pretty darn good. Start with the antipasto salad topped with a house vinaigrette. Next, try the penne arrabiata, just this side of al dente pasta topped with spicy fennel sausage. The true test of any Italian restaurant is the margherita pizza, and this one passes, with a zippy sauce and a good balance of toppings. Desserts here are over the top in terms of size and sweetness, but still worth a try. One thing to remember: all dishes---from salads to sides---are served family-style and the portions are enormous, so be conservative when ordering.
