Buca di Beppo Restaurant Review: Buca di Beppo (translation: Joe’s basement) restaurants are divided into many rooms, with walls covered with hundreds of photos of famous Italians and Italian family scenes; tchotchkes and bright colors abound. Meanwhile, Dean Martin, Al Martino, Louie Prima and Frank Sinatra croon in the background. The menu, posted on painted signs in each room, includes about 20 entrées and 10 pizzas, plus several salads and sides. Everything is served family-style, with a very large family in mind --- five people ordering three entrées would still walk away with leftovers. The food is home-style Italian fare: hearty and not too adventuresome. Try the fresh harvest pappardelle. Wine is exclusively Italian; for dessert, the dolce platter has tastes of four finales (including Italian crème cake) for sharing.
