Located near the “O” Theater in one of the Strip's most opulent hotels, The Buffet boasts a spacious and cheerful ambience with lots of brass and glass, enhanced by red, white and blush wines, and a large selection of beers. Five thousand or more people eat here daily, piling their plates with everything from boiled shrimp and Scottish smoked salmon, and salad bar selections such as couscous and crab legs, to good thin-crusted pizzas out of a wood-burning oven, Asian stir-fry and, we're happy to report, fresh-baked breads. The Friday and Saturday dinner buffets are promoted as “gourmet” with the addition of carved-to-order beef Wellington with béarnaise sauce, rack of lamb and Kobe beef. Among appealing desserts are fruit cobblers, crème brûlée and peanut butter brownies. The lavish weekend Champagne brunch is presented from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. Breakfast $14.95, Lunch $19.95, Dinner $27.95 (Fri.-Sat. $35.95), Brunch $23.95 (with Champagne $28.95), no charge for children up to age 3.
