THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Bulluck's Best Bar-B-Q Restaurant Review: This new location is under the command of Rosetta Bullocks spouse, Ret. Sgm Nathan Bullock, who moves around the kitchen with the precision of, well, a drill sergeant. But a gentle one. Specializing in eastern Carolina-style barbecue---the kind with the vinegar-and-pepper-based sauce and coleslaw on top of the sandwiches---the couple, who enjoy catering large events, can even do a whole hog picking, a real Southern treat. But there also is a tomato-based sauce, as Rosetta says, for my Georgia customers. Side dishes include homemade potato salad and slaw. Dont pass up the desserts, which are homemade and plenty worth the calories, especially the nearly-never-seen-these-days egg pie. But its hard to decide between the fresh fruit cobblers, the red velvet cake, or the sweet potato pie. She bases her Brunswick stew on her Georgia grandmothers recipe, and even has her wash pot, which was the traditional vessel for cooking this traditional dish. Hush puppies are available for Carolina advocates. (Georgians reserve hush puppies for fish.) Rosetta says she can ship all over the world.
