THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Busabong Tree Restaurant Review:
Feng Shui buffs point to Busabong Tree as an example of their art---or science. A practitioner supervised the recent makeover involving a colour change from blue to pale daffodil, set off by colourful fabrics and artefacts. The more serene ambience may well be the result of rearranging the tables, but the flowery courtyard, always delightful in summer, is unchanged, as is the charming service led by owner Mini. Starters more interesting than the usual versions are satay beef, chicken or prawns with a creamy garlic sauce, plus the usual peanut sauce, toast and cucumber; and chicken wings stuffed with crab meat, chopped chicken, coriander roots and glass noodles. Black tiger prawns grilled on sticks, jacketed prawns, and fish cakes are simpler options. The Moral Maze of Chefs specials includes scallops with mange-touts in coconut sauce with red curry and holy basil; devil monkfish in green curry sauce; and passion killer stir-fried king prawns in fish sauce with garlic, coriander and black pepper. There are about twenty vegetarian dishes. Many of the forty well-chosen wines are well suited to the food. Set lunch £9.95; set 3-course dinner £22.25 & £27.
