The Butler & The Chef Restaurant Review

: When antique-French-kitchen collectors decide to open a café, one might think that's too big of a leap. Just because someone knows about décor doesn't mean they know food. Not so when it comes to The Butler & The Chef, which delivers both the ambience and menu. The restaurateurs filled this charming spot with distressed café furniture and distinctly Parisian posters. Try crusty baguette sandwiches lined with sweet butter and salty ham, a classic croque monsieur or the quintessential salade niçoise. This place is popular with the surrounding SoMa working-person's lunch crowd. If you want to behave like these locals, get your café au lait to go, then walk across the street to enjoy South Park's sun-filled lawn. Or stay and enjoy the charming environment.
