The Butler & The Chef Restaurant Review

: When antique-French-kitchen collectors decided to open a café, the result was The Butler & The Chef, an aesthetically charming spot filled with distressed café furniture and distinctly Parisian posters. Try crusty baguette sandwiches lined with sweet butter and salty ham, a classic croque monsieur or the quintessential salade niçoise. Breakfast includes an array of crêpes, waffles and a few other choices, including the organic mimosa, but we found the croissant somewhat wanting (dry, not particularly flaky and generally dull). Colorful Parisian style enameled tables are optimal for two, and for coffee. This place is popular with the surrounding SoMa working-person's lunch crowd. If you want to behave like these locals, get your café au lait to go, or stay and enjoy the charming environment.
