THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Butterfly Restaurant Review:

This is the spot to find great jazz and Latin tunes, tasty pan-Asian cuisine and a perfect martini all in a chic setting. San Francisco’s swanky Butterfly restaurant, lounge and bar offer just that. Executive chef Robert Lam creates an eclectic seasonal menu. Since Butterfly is not only a dining room destination but also a spot to see live music and sip cocktails, the kitchen is smart enough to include a number of approachable small plates that mix well with a range of mixed drinks. A dozen oysters can easily be ordered alongside the house-smoked salmon carpaccio and the duck confit spring rolls. Don't be bullied into sharing the addictive hoisin-glazed baby back ribs, which arrive with a zingy pineapple relish and toasted peanuts. Entrées are equally alluring with a front-burner favorite being the five-spice braised short ribs served with pumpkin and scallion risotto. Big appetites will enjoy the sizzling cowboy steak for two with its pile of caramelized onions, chorizo and fingerling potatoes. Desserts combine the best of western traditions with the beguiling flavors of the east.
