Byblos Restaurant Review: Attached to a shopping mall just outside the city limits, Byblos boasts a high-ceilinged, whitewashed dining room that’s several degrees more comfortable and well-appointed than the run-of-the-mill Middle Eastern café. At the cloth-covered tables, regulars converse over aromatic rice; meaty cabbage rolls; a parsley-rich tabbouleh; skewers piercing exotically seasoned beef, shrimp, fish, lamb and chicken; and such custardy, honey-laced desserts as ashta (a traditional Lebanese sweet that’s a cross between clotted cream and pudding) and baklava.
