| Claiming a primo piece of real estate right by the Potomac, Cabanas should be a dining destination but, alas, both its service and its food leave a lot to be desired. An appetizer, a minimalist portion of queso fundido, arrives without enough dippers and cheese to serve two people (don't share). The chicken mole lacks oomph, with the sticky sauce poured over the cooked chicken rather than the meat having been stewed in the concoction. The meal-saver is the Key lime tart for dessert. Expect to find a fun crowd indoors enjoying margaritas with names like Mango Madness. |
