| Here’s a fine destination for a quiet, elegant business lunch or a celebratory dinner. Found about midway between Dallas and Fort Worth just off Interstate 30, Cacharel presents a classic French menu and a ninth-floor view of nearby Six Flags Over Texas and the Texas Rangers baseball stadium. But it’s the food you’ll remember. Appetizers such as sautéed escargots with grapes and pecans in an herb butter sauce atop puff pastry will linger in the mind, as will roasted duck breast slices in a cassis sauce. For the adventuresome, the ostrich grilled steak is a risk worthy dish. The hazelnut soufflé is legendary and the pumpkin soufflé with roasted pecans is a treat around the holidays. Lunches are priced à la carte, while dinner is a reasonable three-course prix-fixe. |
