Cafe 103 Restaurant Review:

While Hong Kong hotels tend to focus on Italian or Asian cuisine for their in-house restaurants while overlooking the humble café, The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong's executive chef Peter Find has done nothing of the kind. Neither did the stylish minds who designed the interiors at this 103rd-floor eatery with soaring ceilings and views. The diverse menu includes a well-priced five-course executive lunch that might include a juicy grilled spring chicken with rosemary garlic potatoes and grilled vegetables. Vegetarians will do well here, too, thanks to the wild forest mushroom cream soup with a splash of white truffle oil or the light and crunchy avocado, arugula, grilled watermelon and toasted quinoa salad. Don't be afraid to ask for the gluten-free breads; they taste as good as the more indulgent French baguette. Speaking of indulgences, every Monday through Saturday from 3 p.m.-6 p.m. chocoholics flock to the afternoon chocolate-themed tea time where seasonal savories like apple wood-smoked pepper duck finger sandwiches with honey mustard dressing and Norway fresh salmon on a squid ink sesame bun are merely a prelude to the elegantly presented selection of chocolate pleasures, perhaps a salted caramel, hazelnut and dark chocolate mille-feuille. Detox on another visit with the café's Triple Green cleanser juice of green apple, mint and lime.
