Cafe Algiers Restaurant Review:

After a two-week hiatus following more than 45 years in business, the beloved Cafe Algiers in Harvard Square reopened under new owner Sami Herbawi (Andala Coffee House in Central Square). The two-story cafe had been a comfortable hangout for students and residents for decades. The menu remains the same. Breakfast, including options like the Loving Time Omelet with green onions and fresh parsley, is served all day. Look for appetizers of spinach pie, cucumber yoghurt salad and halal-friendly meat pies; and plates of kebab, falafel and hummus, and the famed lentil soup. Beverages include beer, wine and port, and a variety of tea and espresso to match with baklawa, Algiers rice pudding and biscotti.
