Cafe Gratitude Restaurant Review: Mike and Natalie George brought Café Gratitude to Kansas City from San Francisco as an expression of their desire to provide vegan, local fare. The food is free of refined sugar, flour and additives. They support local farmers, sustainable agriculture and environmentally-friendly products. Each menu item reflects an affirmation. The pizza is a raw version with tomato, basil, olive tapenade, nut Parmesan and cashew ricotta cheese on live onion sunflower pizza crust. For comfort food, there’s an appetizer of roasted garlic potatoes served with spicy nacho cheese. A tasty sandwich with spicy cashew aïoli, toasted chipotle-maple coconut, romaine lettuce, tomato and avocado is served with a side salad.
