Cafe on the Green Restaurant Review: Café on the Green's estate-inspired setting and elegantly appointed rooms perch amid a backdrop of rolling hills and the manicured lawns of the Richter Park Golf Course. Fresh floral bouquets grace white-clothed tables set with fine china and crystal. The Italian cuisine features a traditionally prepared pasta e fagioli soup. An inventive pulled duck bolognaise consisting of shredded duck leg and thigh tossed with crimini mushrooms, fresh basil, "la Valle" tomatoes and red wine over pappardelle with shaved Italian cheeses is a welcome twist on the veal, pork and beef standard. Entrées showcase indulgent combinations such as a veal scaloppini sautéed with lobster meat and melted mozzarella tossed in a light Champagne sauce. Comparably lighter fare like eggplant Parmesan --- sliced eggplant, breaded and fried, layered with mozzarella and marinara sauce served over spaghetti --- will appeal to less carnivorous appetites. Finish the evening on a dramatic note with a bananas Foster flambé.
