| The trendy Montana Avenue shopping district is now loaded with chic eateries, but Café Montana was one of the first to stake out this prime territory. Behind its sleek glass façade lies a contemporary dining room with an audible buzz. Thanks to the heritage of owner Eddie Silkaitas, this is one of the few places in L.A. to score some authentic Lithuanian dumplings---a recommended appetizer, by the way. The generally satisfying menu also offers crab cakes with a triple citrus-Chardonnay reduction, pumpkin ravioli in sage-shallot-butter sauce, rosemary-garlic lamb chops, and seared ahi tuna. Moderately priced and upbeat, Café Montana is a good choice for a variety of occasions. |
