: Cafe Presse’s espresso machine and bar full of French apéritifs hint at its versatility. Whether you want to enjoy an international newspaper or celebrate with a friend, it offers genuine Parisian style and a lively atmosphere. Owners Joanne Herron and Jim Drohman are the visionaries behind Seattle's Le Pichet. This Capitol Hill spot offers a menu of well-prepared café classics. Breakfast includes robust Caffé Vita coffee and an ever-changing array of house-made pastries. Soccer fans come early and stake out seats in the bar to watch games on a wide-screen TV. However, the back room beckons those seeking quiet conversation over a toasty croque madame or a terrine of chicken liver mousse. Moist roast chicken is well worth the 30-minute wait; a baguette with bittersweet chocolate will tide you over. Accompany your meal with a cocktail or a glass of well-chosen, affordable French wine.
