THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Cafe Rosso Restaurant Review:

Italian towns have their own favorite cafés, or trattorias, and the good ones thrive on regular customers who drop by for a glass of wine and a bite to eat several times a week. Same can be said of Café Rosso. This Ghent restaurant is a neighborhood favorite. Chef-owner C. Meredith Nicolls Jr. found a winning formula when he decided to offer menu and wine selections to match the restaurant's 21st Street address. Diners can choose from 21 wines for $21, 21 wood-fired pizzas and 21 pastas. The pizza and panini choices have local names, such as Stockley Gardens pizza with prosciutto, Asiago, fresh oregano and homemade sauce, and the 21st Street panini with spinach, applewood bacon and Asiago. We keep going back for the Rosso Caesar salad and the Maury Avenue, a four-cheese pizza, cooked to perfection on a crisp, chewy crust. Vegetarians are happy with the numerous vegetarian and vegan selections, such as linguine with wild mushrooms and penne with wood-roasted vegetables. If you don't have time to soak in the pleasant Italian ambience, stop by for takeout.
