 Cafe Rustica Restaurant Review: Café Rustica has been a locals’ favorite for years. The food is tasty and indeed rustic --- think hearty salad topped with chicken apple sausage, blue cheese and caramelized onions. Sit at the bar and watch the goings-on in the open kitchen, or eat on the patio. Don’t miss the thin-crust wood-fire-roasted pizza in a variety of offbeat flavor combinations (we like the smoked salmon, onions and capers on crème fraîche). The dessert list is small but mighty, and includes a rich and tangy lemon pudding cake. Entrée options include a popular Hungarian paprika beef goulash and a variety of pastas. There are quite a few vegetarian options, too. One tip --- the kitchen will accommodate allergies, but the menu requests you don’t ask for substitutions or modifications. Service is cheerful and prompt, portions are generous, and the drive from the Peninsula is beautiful. |
